Cliff Cabaness

Cliff Cabaness

Chairman of Board of Directors, Founder, Principal

Cliff co-founded Trinity Multifamily in 2003 and has over 21 years of experience in real estate including ownership and management of single family homes, multifamily complexes, land development and major rehabilitation projects. Further enhancing his expertise, Cliff is an experienced Real Estate Inspector, a licensed Real Estate Agent and a member of the National Association of Realtors.

Prior to co-founding Trinity, Cliff served as Chief Operating Officer and Partner in 13 multi-state quick service restaurants from 1995 to 2000. During this time he evaluated and designed locations, negotiated leases, supervised construction projects and hired and trained team members. Cliff ultimately supervised 250 employees including a complete back office support team.  During the early 1990s, Cliff was the Assistant Hospital Administrator at a 120 bed residential treatment facility in Baton Rouge, LA. Before this, Cliff served in the Arkansas National Guard as a Combat Engineer from 1987-1993.

Cliff currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as well as the Pregnancy Help Center in Fort Smith. He is also an active member of First Baptist Christ in Fort Smith where he is a Sunday School teacher, Finance Committee member, deacon and member of the Missions Committee. He is currently pursuing his M.A.B.C degree at Seminary & Bible College.

Cliff holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He and his wife Marcy are the parents of two daughters; Claire Grace and Anna Beth, and have been blessed with the addition of his nephew since he was 11yrs old.

John E. Baxter

Principal

John Baxter co-founded Trinity Mutlifamily in 2003 and has over ten years of real estate experience including ownership of single-family homes, new construction, major rehabilitation projects and land development. John’s primary interest within real estate has always been property acquisition and finance. Before discovering his interest in real estate, John had a successful career in the insurance industry.

John’s first job in the insurance industry was with the Arkansas General Agency where he was employed from 1991-1994. John started out as a mail clerk and worked his way up to Marketing Director for the State of Oklahoma where he was responsible for managing revenue production and sales development for the brokerage’s 250 agents.

John then purchased his first insurance agency, Henry Insurance Agency, Inc. in 1994 and built it to one of the top agencies in Fort Smith, Arkansas in less than four years. He then merged his agency with Johnson, Moorman, and Russell, Inc. (JMR, Inc.), one of the largest insurance firms in the state of Arkansas. He assumed a key leadership role within the combined agency.

John served as Executive Vice President for JMR, Inc. from 1998-2003. During this time he was responsible for managing seven different insurance agencies all owned by JMR, Inc. His various duties included acquisitions, personnel, sales management, financial reporting and personal sales. In 2002, John sold his partnership in the agency to focus his full attention on his real estate interests.

John currently serves on the Board of Elders for Central Christian Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas where he is an active member. He is also one of the founders of Union Christian Academy and served on the Board of Directors of that educational institution from 2004-2007. In addition, John is Co-Chair of Jubilee Financial Ministries, Inc.

Dave Pinson

CEO, President

Dave provides the strategic leadership and vision to guide the direction and tremendous growth of our organization. This has been proven by his aggressive plan and execution of successful takeovers and integrations of more than 10,000 units in six States. Dave oversees the daily operations and opportunities for expansion through development and acquisition as well as property management while providing the entire staff with inspiration and empowerment.

Before becoming CEO/President, Dave served as a Regional Director at Trinity Multifamily supervising the Northwest Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri Portfolio’s. During this time, Net Operating Income (NOI) increased and occupancy ran above market average.

Dave brings over 10 years’ experience in student housing and property management on several different college and university campuses. He is a previous recipient of the National Rising Star award for excellence in student housing. Dave served as the Director of Housing and Residential Life at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith where he was the Chief Housing Officer. During this time he was responsible for the overall operations of the Office of Housing and Residential Life. His other housing experience includes being an Area Coordinator at both Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas and Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

Dave holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Arkansas Tech University. Additionally, Dave is a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and is accredited through the National Apartment Association. He also holds an active Arkansas Real Estate License.

He was the recipient of both the 2013 and 2014 Corporate Supervisor of the year in Central Oklahoma. He and his wife LeAnn are the parents of 2 sons, Blake and Bryce and 1 daughter Madeline.

Doug Dedmon

Development Analyst/Principal Broker

Doug Dedmon has successfully overseen the management takeover of over 10,000 multifamily units in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, Kansas and Tennessee. Mr. Dedmon worked his way up from the on-site manager/maintenance level to Development Analyst/Principal Broker. He possesses a tremendous amount of global knowledge about the operation of multifamily properties and is instrumental in making sure the information technology and accounting integrates properly with the overall strategy of the business. Mr. Dedmon is highly responsible for the hands-on approach that Trinity Multifamily employs during a management takeover and ensures that realistic budgets are developed and met throughout the operation of the assets under Trinity’s tenure for the last 14 years.

Mr. Dedmon’s current role with Trinity includes the finance and under writing of new opportunities and partnerships as well as an analytic oversight and follow up of each of the assets entrusted to Trinity’s management. He also carries the Brokers License for the firm and ensures that each agent is current and up to speed on the often-changing rules and regulations in the real estate industry today.

In addition to the above accomplishments, Doug is a Licensed Principal Broker. Mr. Dedmon is a member of the Fort Smith Board of Realtors. Additionally, he is a respected member of the National Board Association of Realtors. He and his wife Amber are parents to one son, Hunter and a daughter, Anna Grace.

Zac Smithson

Director of Development

In his current role as Director of Development, Zac oversees all new construction projects for the company to include seeking out land, demographics and demand for the areas that we serve. Zac also is the direct contact for all rehabilitation and renovation projects. He builds and maintains our vendor relations and ensures minimal impact on the current residents of any property undergoing any enhancements.

Zac Smithson began his relationship with Trinity Multifamily as the Community Director at Kingston Court. After a full utility and partial exterior rehab of the property, Zac successfully managed the one-million-dollar investment property, while establishing tenant relations essential in the retention of occupants. Mr. Smithson’s proven ability, enabled him a promotion to Community Director of Timberline Apartments – a 305-unit complex in Ft. Smith, AR. he has in his first year onsite increased the annual NOI over $215,000. This exceptional performance ensured Zac’s swift rise to the position of Regional Director.

Prior to joining Trinity Multifamily, Zac worked in the home improvement industry, where his knowledge of home repair and maintenance proves to be an asset in the realm of overseeing property maintenance needs. In conjunction with maintaining a full-time position, Mr. Smithson attended the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. With a fundamental in maintaining computer functions. This further enhances his ability to track all necessary functions in property ownership and management.

In addition to the above accomplishments, Zac is a Licensed Real Estate Agent. He is a member of the Fort Smith Board of Realtors. Additionally, he is a respected member of the National Board Association of Realtors.

Craig Carter, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Craig joined Trinity Multifamily in 2016 and has over 19 years of experience in property management along with three years in public accounting. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and a Certified Public Accountant.

Craig and his wife Sheryl have four daughters, Abby, Ally, Ashlyn and Anniston and are also foster parents. They are active members of First Baptist Lavaca. Craig also serves on the board of directors for Lavaca Public Schools and The Call of Crawford and Sebastian Counties. He has also served on the boards of several other charities, including Hope Rising Children’s Home, an orphanage in Haiti.

Misty Maxwell

Director of Marketing & Staff Development

Misty joined Trinity Multifamily in 2016. She has been in the multifamily industry for two years with experience on the vendor side in advertising and in serving the operations team at a property management company in Oklahoma. Prior to coming to the multifamily industry, she held various titles to include Sales Consultant, Agent Account Executive and Sales Manager at US Cellular. Her decade there provided her with experience in sales, marketing, customer acquisition and retention, and leadership to make her an asset to Trinity.

She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2013 with her Bachelors in Business Management.

Misty has two daughters Kailey and Addyson.

Aaron Brown

Risk Management Coordinator

Prior to his position as Risk Management Coordinator, Aaron W. Brown served four years as a Community Director at Rockwood Terrace. While there, Mr. Brown acquired 6 other properties over his service. His duties included budgets, marketing, maintenance supervisor, minor rehabs, retention and new property take overs. Rent was increased by twenty-five percent while total income and occupancy rose over twenty percent.

As the Risk Management Coordinator, Mr. Brown has overseen the largest rehab in hail damages claims for the River Valley portfolio. Aaron personally inspected and assessed nearly every roof prior to the claims, attended adjusters visits and set up most contractors with damages totaling nearly $2 million in losses.

Aaron brings 2 years’ experience in property management prior to joining the Trinity family. Previously Aaron worked in food service, customer service and construction.

Mr. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith in Criminal Justice. Additionally, he is a certified apartment manager, and has taken the Fair Housing Laws accredited through the National Apartment Association – Education Institute. Currently he is acquiring the Risk Management Analysis certificate through The National Alliance for Insurance – Education and Research program.

Brother Brown is active with his fraternity Kappa Alpha Order, a member of Freemason and Troop 3 of the Boy Scouts of America in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He and his wife Sarah are the parents to their son, Mox Alexander.

Kathleen Hass

Regional Director, River Valley & NE Oklahoma

Before becoming Regional Director, Kathleen served 5 years as a Community Director and one year as the Area Director in the River Valley. Ms. Hass joined the Trinity team in 2010 and was primarily supervising Timberline Gardens in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the largest property in the area with 305 units. She was instrumental in increasing the NOI by 12% while assisting other staff with their properties across the region.

As Regional Director, Kathleen has provided the leadership, and vision, that has drove her region in one of the most resilient portfolios within the company.

She has overseen the successful takeover, and integration, of more than 2300 units. To include 5 rehabs with more than $6m in cost that span across four counties in western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma.

Kathleen oversees the daily operations, budgeting, forecasting, capital improvements strategies, investment relations and more importantly team motivation for 60+ multifamily properties and 200+ single family houses, and growing steadily.
Ms. Hass brings over 12 years of experience in real estate and property management on several different levels. She is a previous recipient of the Small Property of the Year award from Trinity Multifamily.

A native of New York, Kathleen holds a degree in Communications, with a minor in Business, from SUNY College at Oneonta, New York. Additionally, she is a Certified Property Manager accredited through the National Apartment Association. She held a New York Real Estate License for 4 years.

Kathleen give 40+ hours a year in volunteer work in her community with the Emergency Children’s Services and the Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House. She has one daughter, Kylie. The Hass family lives in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Jennifer Kelley

Regional Director, Tulsa Area and Southeast Oklahoma

Jennifer joined Trinity Multifamily in 2005 and has over 12 years of experience. She started out as a leasing consultant but has been promoted a few times over the years and now her current role is the Regional Director for Tulsa and other surrounding areas. In addition to meeting and maintaining occupancy, marketing, writing budgets, internal auditing of property files, cash flow, and NOI expectations, as well as resident retention and rent increases; Jennifer is responsible for supervising the managers to ensure the overall appearance and performance of the properties. She earned her Certified Apartment Manager Designation (CAM) in 2013 and she is accredited through the National Apartment Association.

Jennifer and her husband Marcus are busy parents to one son, Jermaine and a daughter, Jordyn.

Vanessa Macias

Regional Director, Missouri and Kansas

Before joining Trinity in 2016 as the Regional Director over the Missouri and Kansas properties, Vanessa served 4 and a half years as a Regional Director overseeing a variety of products types such as garden, mid- rise, high rise and mixed use across Missouri and Kansas with her previous company.  She also was a corporate trainer and takeover specialist for many years and has overseen the successful takeover of over 5,000 plus units in her career. Her general expertise includes maximizing revenue and increasing asset value, facilitating smooth acquisitions and retaining and growing the industries top talent.

Vanessa started off as a leasing agent and has worked in every position on site and has a great amount of knowledge on what it takes to train, motivate and teach newcomers how to run a successful business.  Vanessa received her C.A.M (Certified Apartment Manager) her first year in the business when she was just a leasing agent.

Vanessa volunteers her time with the Community Service League. She and her husband, John, are the parents of two sons, Jacob and Jackson.

Penny McCollom

Regional Director, Northwest Arkansas

Originally from St. Louis Missouri, Penny moved to Arkansas in 2002 with her family.  As most people do when they come to Northwest Arkansas they fell in love with the area. She brings over 12 years of housing families just like herself in the wonderful NWA area. Hired by Trinity in 2010 she started as an Account Collections Manager. In late 2010 she received her first property and managed to increase the income on that property by over 20%. It didn’t take long until there were many more properties under her direction. In 2012 she was tasked with being an Area Manager over many properties in Fayetteville and surrounding areas. While growing the portfolios around her and still collecting for other managers in the NWA area, she was promoted to Regional Director in early 2016. Her genuine care for the company and the community around her is why she is a perfect fit for this position.
Megan Ferguson

Residential Home Division Regional Director

Megan Ferguson started with Trinity Multifamily in 2008 as an on-site Community Director for the Ft. Smith Area. During this time, she oversaw Addison Place Apartments where she was able to increase income by 8% and occupancy was raised by 5% in less than a year, two percent higher than the national average. In 2014 she was promoted to Area Director over the River Valley portfolio after her demonstration of attention to detail, fiscal budgeting, and negotiation skills. Megan was again promoted in May of 2015 to Regional Director over the newly developed Residential Division within the company where she helped integrate our single family homes into their own program. That single portfolio had less than one hundred units at the beginning, now 18 months later, her Division controls over 600 units, in ten cities, spanning across Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma, a growth of almost 700%. Mrs. Ferguson oversees the day to day operations of her portfolios and provides support to her Residential staff and owners. She is certified in Fair Housing law, accredited through the National Apartment Association – Education Institute and licensed with Management Resources International.

Megan is a two time Community Director of the Year award winner for 2013 and 2014, and a Trinity President’s award winner in 2015.

She has been married to Blake Ferguson for six years and currently resides in Barling, Arkansas.

Shannon Bernal Carrillo

Regional Director, Springdale & Southern Missouri

Shannon Bernal Carrillo started with Trinity Multifamily in 2012 as an on-site Community Director in the Springdale area, since then Shannon has been promoted twice in her short time with the company. In 2013 she received the NOI Large Community Award for Montecito Springs, 2014 Property of The Year Award for Montecito Springs, and in 2015 the Mid-Level Manager of the Year Award. She is no stranger to hard work and she enjoys taking the hands-on approach.  Shannon has worked closely with customer relations for 9 years now and strives to provide great customer service. Shannon is dedicated to Trinity’s vision in providing the highest quality apartment homes and communities in each of our markets and bring the highest quality living experience to our valued residents. Shannon is a woman of integrity with strong Christian values. She has been an active member of City Point Church since January 2015.

Shannon has been married to her husband Carlos 11 years and they are the proud parents of their 4 children Giovanni, Johnathan, Gabriela, and Angela.

Dawn Garner

Regional Director, Central Arkansas and North Texas

Dawn joined Trinity Multifamily in April 2016 as a Regional Director.  She is responsible for directing the management and operation of over 2,000 multi-family units in Central Arkansas and North Texas entrusted to Trinity by owners across the nation.  This includes managing to realistic operating, capital, and revenue budgets to enhance Owner value and ROI.  Since joining Trinity, Dawn has been an integral part of the management takeover that have successfully assumed responsibility for seven properties in Central Arkansas over a six-month period.

Dawn attended Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee, and began her career in the credit union industry, working her way up to managing Werthern Bag Credit Union in Nashville, Tennessee.  After making the decision to devote herself full time to raising her children, Dawn re-entered the work force as a Real Estate Agent.  Over a 14-year period, Dawn consistently was a part of the Million Dollar Club and managed owner leased properties.

While living in Georgia, Dawn became a Mortgage Broker at LSI Mortgage Plus.  She was licensed in the States of Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky. She concentrated on providing mortgages and refinancing for residential properties.

After relocating to Arkansas, Dawn decided to re-enter property management field managing both Section 8/Tax Credit and conventional apartment complexes.

She and her husband have been married over 32 years and have two adult children, Lindsey who is in her last graduate school for Speech Pathology and Logan who is currently a Realtor in Nashville, TN.

Christy Mayo

Regional Director, Tennessee, Mississippi and East Missouri

Christy joined Trinity Multifamily in September 2016 as a Community Manager and has since been promoted to Regional Director of our South Eastern District. She has overseen the takeover of 650 units and counting.

With over 17 years of experience in property management, Christy has committed her career to displaying outstanding leadership, financial stewardship, continuous training and the ability to execute standard operating procedures. She has earned multiple “Property Manager of the Year” awards along with many other accomplishments throughout the years. Christy is dedicated and determined to contribute to the constant growth of the Trinity Community.

Christy has four adult children, Dezirae, TeDario, Tiara and Teddy Jr.
